The department started in the year 1993, which is one among the oldest and the finest private management colleges started the department of School of architecture in Tamil Nadu. The School of Architecture is guided by eminent faculty members, experienced subject specialists and Practicing Architects. Highly qualified faculties from renowned institutions frequently visit as guest speakers from industry & Academia. Teaching methodology includes lectures, case studies, site visits, seminars, Assignments, Live projects, group discussion and mostly learning by performing Activities. The department has been provided with an independent building with the entire necessary infrastructure as per COA norms. The department has a state of art independent library within the department, exclusively for architecture students. It covers books on the latest subjects and includes national, international journals and e-journals. Well equipped Lecture Halls, Audio Visual Presentation Room, Design Studios, Photography Lab, Climatology Lab, Multimedia CAD Lab with LAN and 24 hour Internet facilities, Material Museum with a collection of all kinds of buildings materials like roofing, floor tiles, sanitary ware, etc., Design Workshop equipped with working platform for a group of students who can work on 3D models during the process of design development from the conceptual stage to the final design level and Department Library with latest books, Journals and Magazines in all fields of Architecture covering all disciplines.
Active member in NASA (National Architecture Students Association).To acquire practical exposure and skills, students are constantly & actively participating in zonal & national level student's convention &seminars and have won several prizes both at Zonal & national level. 100% placement of all the batches. MOU signed with Auto Desk – Chennai to train Architecture softwares for all the students. National level Architecture Symposiums, Guest lectures, Case study, field visits and workshops are regularly conducted for students.
The department is one among the 198 member colleges in NASA (a national level body). Our students are encouraged to participate in NASA events right from the beginning and they have won several prizes at NASA & zonal NASA conventions continuously till date. Our students have also made a remarkable achievement in the NASA 2012, Ahmedabad by being short listed in a special mention in "ANDC 2012" and in NASA 2013, the students got short listed in product Design, Journalism and Indian Arch. Apart from this, the students have won many prizes in on- the- spot events & cultural programs regularly.
Bharath Architecture Student Society (BASS), a student body conducts weekly activities for students like on-the spot events, design, paper presentation, and extra-curricular activities. Recently hosted PLEXUS – 17, on April 24 attended by more than 300 students. Every year we document a rural village (in and around Hosur) and the issues related to environment, sanitation and construction are identified and solutions are suggested to the rural people. We also document heritage buildings, urban issues like transportation, slums, market study areas, etc., The Department has trained more than six hundred architects in the last sixteen batches and all our graduated students are well placed in India as well as abroad. The students are ensured an esteemed place in the society.

The Under Graduate program , Bachelors of Architecture is of 10 semester duration is recognized as one of India’s premier and most comprehensive programs in architecture due to the thrust on contemporary issue like sustainability, urban redevelopment, and housing. It also offers a large number of elective studies, ensuring flexibility and a choice based education tailored to the student’s area of special interest which may be urban design, landscape architecture, housing and project management. The students are also well exposed to current software techniques like Autodesk Revit and Google Sketch Up. The Bachelore Degree in Architecture program is approved by the council of Architecture, New Delhi and was the first one in South India to be accredited by National Board Accreditation, in 2001.
The department combines traditional learning with practice based work, prepares and shapes professional Architects. The course is comprehensive and holistic covering topics from History / Theory of Architecture to materials and construction, design of structure, climatology, site planning, urban designing, urban economics, sociology, cost estimation, budgeting, project management and more.
Leading Architects visit the department for guest and part-time lectures and guide the students in their studios. The course is approved by the Council of Architecture (COA) and students are encouraged to actively participate in all NASA activities (National Architectural Students Association).
The department of Architecture offers both full time and part time Ph.D programs in all major area of Architecture design such as architectural conservation, landscape architecture, urban design, housing studies, project Management, interior design, digital architecture and environmental planning
